Hosted by the Closing the Achievement Gap Consortium (CAGC)
Our annual New Teacher Orientation (NTO), is specifically designed for educators new to our CAGC member schools and districts, or those stepping into the classroom for the first time. This year, our focus remains steadfast on equitable teaching practices. While the format and topics evolve yearly, our commitment to the following core themes remains unchanged:
- The “Why”: Understanding the necessity of a consortium dedicated to addressing equity.
- Moral Imperative: Grasping the ethical responsibility we hold as educators.
- Self-awareness: Recognizing our own privilege and biases.
- Diversity: Valuing and supporting diversity in education.
- Positive Relationships: Leveraging the power of positive relationships in the classroom.
